Pihatöitä hyvässä säässä -Gardening in good weather

Tänä aamuna mieheni leikkasi pensaita. Minä haravoin tänään useita tunteja ja leikkasin lisää pensaita. Sää oli hieno. Näin monia hanhiparvia. Lensivät talomme yli muuttomatkalla etelään. Olo on nyt hyvä oltuani koko päivän ulkona. Kohta menen saunaan ja katson tv:tä. Mieheni täytyi matkustaa tänään Helsinkiin töihin. Hänen piti osallistua erääseen tapahtumaan. Hän meni junalla ja tulee pian takaisin. This morning my husband cut some bushes. I was raking for several  hours and cutting some more bushes. The weather was fine. I saw many geese moving to South. They flew over our house. I feel great after having the whole day outdoors. Next I’ll go to sauna and I’ll watch tv. My husband had to travel to Helsinki today. He went by train and he’ll be back soon. He was working in Helsinki. There was some occasion he had to participate.

Amerikan jalopähkinä on vielä täynnä lehtiä – American Walnut is still full of leaves

  1. Your garden looks gorgeous as ever. Our grass begins to have big and small leaves on it as well, all from the neighbours. We didn't start raking though. The worst are the tiny leaves from one of the trees from a neughbour. It's just impossible to rake of sweep them or anything. They get stuck everywhere and even get into the house. All you can so is, really(!!!), pick them up by hand, or, in the house get rid of them through vacuuming. I'm not at all fond of that tree just because of all those little leaves falling in autumn.
    Bye,
    Marian

  2. That doesn't sound nice. What is that tree? I love our American Walnut in summertime, but hate it in autumn. It saves its leaves till the first frost. When it's windy it throws its leaves everywhere, but won't drop them down until it's frost. All other trees are empty, but Walnut keeps its leaves, what means that I keep on raking. As you can see in the picture its leaves are huge in size and there are lots of them!

  3. Ihan kesäisen näköistä haravoinnin jälkeen. Toivottavasti huomennakin olisi edes hetki poutaa niin pääsisin minäkin vähän haravaa heiluttamaan.

  4. Joo, voisi tuo aurinko näyttäytyä useammin. Tänään täällä ei aurinko paistanut, mutta muuten oli oikein hyvä sää.

  5. HI Satu! Lovely garden, unfortunately that's the down side of deciduous trees, the raking. But aren't they lovley when they have fallen? I love to watch the wind blow the leaves off the trees, it lets me know Winter is on it's way.

  6. Kaunis piha pensaineen.. nurmikkokin vihertää kesäisesti vaikka on jo lokakuu:-)

  7. I must admit that I'm not a big fan of winter. We can have 20 Celcius frost and I just hate to javel snow. It's beautiful, when there's snow and the sky is blue, but otherwise…:O(

  8. Onpa kerrassaan upea jalopähkinä ja muutenkin pihasi näyttää tosi tunnelmalliselta, huolellisesti hoidetulta ja kauniilta.
    Hyvää ja rentouttavaa viikonloppua sinulle.

  9. Kiitos.

  11. Your garden still look so green and pretty in October. You did a good job with the raking – it is need and tidy.

  12. Satu, your garden is very clean, you worked very hard, raking. Mine is not so clean like yours, the weather is rainy and I couldn't raking up the last weekend.

  15. It's so enjoyable to spend the day outside gardening when the weather is nice. Yesterday we had snow in the morning, so my fingers got a little cold when I was cleanig up the old perennial foliage.

Everything looks green and tidy after your raking. One of my trees, a willow, usually loses most of its leaves after the snow has come to stay, so I end up cleaning those up in spring. On the other hand, I do appreciate some green leaves on a tree when everything else is starting to look dull.

  16. Hyvin hoidetulla sinun piha kuvissa näyttää. Mukavaa maanantaita ja uutta viikkoa!

  17. Thank you, Stiletto. It's been promised to snow, so good I could rake on my holidays.

  18. Let's hope the sun vill shine this week. Now, it's shining here in Southern Finland.

  19. Niin on. Keltaiset lehdet kun lähtevät, jää vihreää. No, kohta on valkoista!

  20. Du är lycklig om din man krattar. Min man gillar inte alls att kratta.

  21. Wow, you have already snow. It's been promised that it'll snow this week here as well.
